VIRTUAL CAMPUS INDUCTS E-LEARNING STUDENTS

The Inoorero University Distance and E- learning (D and E) department held its induction for new and change of mode students on Saturday February 16, 2013.

This particular event was meant to orient the new D&E students into the IU D&E system and to give them a chance to interact with their lecturers, D and E staff, as well as the university management.

The event was attended by about 60 D and E students, together with staff and University Management led by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Henry Thairu and Prof Koi Tirima, the Acting Deputy Vice Chancellor Academic Research and Student Affairs.

During his address the VC assured the students that the University’s is committed to their course and personal avail himself when they need him. “Do not sit on problems but raise them as quickly as they occur so that they can be addressed immediately” he said.

On her part the while addressing the students the acting DVC-ARS Prof Koi said that they are committed to ensure the success of the university as students of IU through the D&E mode. During the session the students were taken through an online personal assessment test for their readiness to study through D&E mode.

The acting Registrar ARS Beatrice Mwangi addressed the students on their academic obligations including registration, examinations, Class Assessment Tests and general attitude needed to embrace for their academic success.

Joshua Omanyo the D&E coordinator guided the students on the online portal. He also assured the students of the D&E department’s commitment to their success. The event was also attended by various departmental chairs.
