The ICT Based Teaching and Information Management (IBTM) August school based training began on the 13th August 2012. The training, which ends on the 31st of August aims to train teachers in Basics of Information Processing and use of ICT in Information Management in schools.
The training will equip teachers with ICT skills in order to assist them to adopt technology in their teaching methodology, preparation of school work and school management
Inoorero University was awarded the best institution for the CCNA Security course and for best performance and excellent delivery of the course in East Africa during the annual Cisco conference held between 10th and 13th July 2012 in Zanzibar.
The University was represented by Mr. Charles Ng’ang’a a lecturer at the School of Information Communication Technology (ICT).
At the same event Inoorero was also recognized for its lasting contribution to the Cisco networking academy programs by being awarded a certificate.
The Regional Centre for Enterprise Development (RCED) held its second graduation for the MSME Business Mentorship Program on Thursday, July 12, 2012. Thirty three business mentors graduated bringing to 58 the number of graduates from the program. So far, more than 70 mentee enterprises have been supported by RCED-trained business mentors. The business mentorship course is a first in East and Central Africa and seeks to professionalize the industry with standards, ethics and guidelines.
In seeking to mould students into knowledgeable solution providers through flexible and dynamic teaching, the Inoorero University faculty of Law organized and held its first internal moot court competition on the 13th and 14th June, 2012 at the Inoorero University moot court room.
Inoorero University launched its completed wireless local area network with much fanfare on Wednesday, June 13, 2012. The project, started end of November, 2011 and completed early January 2012. After two months of testing, the wireless LAN is now fully functional.
Samuel Kimani, a second year Bachelor of Information Communication Technology student has been shortlisted for the Utilities Category in the Pivot East Competition.
Kimani, one of the 2012 scholarship beneficiaries, is eyeing a 10,000USD prize for his Mobile Application called M-Verified. This is a mobile web and android application for verifying the legitimacy of documents such as Log books, Certificates, Bank Statements, Permits, Driving License and title deeds. His innovation, registered under Mobilab Ltd made it to the top five categories.
As part of fulfillment of one of our core values of Service to Humanity Inoorero University students participated in a tree planting exercise that took place at the Ngong hills on Saturday, May 21, 2012.
The institution is keen on conserving the environment and contributing to increasing forest cover so that Kenya achieves the benchmark of 10% forest cover and hence accrue all the benefits that come with it.
Inoorero University awarded 11 students with education scholarship on Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at an official ceremony worth Ksh4.6 million to pursue various courses at the institution.
While giving his speech during the function, the Vice Chancellor Prof. Henry Thairu took note of the excellent results shown by beneficiaries and as a University we continue to enrich the lives of many young Kenyans by offering them an opportunity to pursue higher education and empowering them to actualize their potential.

Inoorero University has entered into an agreement with PC Kinyanjui Technical Training Institute today April 19, 2012. The collaboration is one of the few that IU has signed with other relevant institutions to provide ICT training skills to teachers through the ICT Based Teaching and Information Management (IBTM).
Speaking during the signing the Vice Chancellor Prof. Henry Thairu said that currently discussions are underway with the Kenya Institute of Education to avail content for teachers.
