IU - Regional Center for Enterprise Development (RCED) receives Kshs. 60 million

The Royal Danish Embassy in Kenya awards IU - Regional Center for Enterprise Development (RCED) Kshs. 60 million towards the establishment of the Micro, Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (MSMEs) Business Mentoring Program.

The Program will be officially launched on the 20th July 2011 while the 1st intake is set to commence on the 21st of July 2011.

1st Google IT Awareness Day at IU

Inoorero University students and faculty were left in high spirits following a highly successful first ever Google IT Awareness Day with the Google Apps Supporting Programs team from Google.

The IT Awareness Day, the first ever that the University has held, was an extremely fun and creative way for both students and faculty to learn more about Google Apps, Chrome and other cool Google tools. The participants had an opportunity to participate in Google Apps demos, deep dive sessions and a trivia session that saw participants win cool prizes. Among the top prizes were mobile phones.

Dr. Niels Arnfred is new Dean of School of Business

It is with great pleasure that we announce the appointment of Dr. Niels Arnfred as the Dean of School Business with effect from 1st of May 2011. He comes to us with many years of experience as the founder Dean of Scandinavia International Management (SIMI) Copenhagen, Denmark. He served in that position for many years.

He will continue to be the Counterpart Director of IU-CBS EMBA programme currently running in the Institute of Executive Education and Consultancy (IEEC).

Inaugural IU mobile bootcamp registers immense success


Inoorero University, in recognition of the important role of mobile technologies, held its inaugural Mobile Boot camp on 17th – 19th March 2011 under the theme “Mobile Technology and its Impact on Vision 2030”.

The event targeted local developers and university students and was overwhelmingly subscribed, with representation from public and private universities in the country. The mobile boot camp aimed at enhancing participants' capacity to develop meaningful solutions
and appreciate current innovative solutions using mobile technologies.

IU develops business-ready ICT workforce


Inoorero University, in collaboration with Dhanush Infotech, launched its DATAMEdu Certificate in Advanced IT Technologies program in a colourful and well-attended opening ceremony at Inoorero Centre in Parklands on Monday 21st February 2011.

The unique program blends academic curriculum with practical skills in an effort to develop a business-ready workforce equipped with higher practical skills in ICT. In an exciting turn for the pioneer students, they are guaranteed job opportunities with Dhanush Infotech upon successful completion of the 3-month program.

The Culmination of “Sisterhood” phase one!

It’s sad to say goodbye-especially when you feel that you are losing a great number of friends. I must admit I was not particularly keen on having the grand finale of “Sisterhood” because I felt that I was turning my back to over 800 newly found acquaintances in Ruchu Girls High School. The D-day did however arrive, March19th, 2011 to be precise, and the cold, wet, gloomy Nairobi weather did nothing to lift up my spirits. I couldn’t help but have mental flash backs on the journey “Sisterhood” and the young girls have taken these past months.
