The digital age is here with us and we cannot wish it away. Inoorero University (IU) commenced its first training on the use of Information Communication Technology (ICT) in the teaching curriculum from the 5th – 9th December 2011. The training was aimed at Trainers
of Teachers (ToT) who would collaborate with the University in training teachers on how to integrate ICT in the delivery of their content in all subjects. The first ICT Based Teaching and Information Management (IBTM) certified Trainers and who participated in the workshop are
28. The collaborating participants came from Kagumo Teachers Training College, Inoorero University, Othaya Teachers Training College, PC Kinyanjui Technical Training Institute, and private self-sponsored teachers from Nairobi. The participants were
encouraged to be the champions of the Digital Teacher in Kenya.
The IBTM curriculum was developed jointly by the Ministry of Education, Teacher Service Commission, Kenya Institute of Education and Inoorero University. The ToT training prepares trainers who will start training teachers at their respective approved centers from 2012. The five day “hands on” workshop was well received by participants. The course covered the following topics during the five days:
