A conservation walk along the Arthi- Kapiti in Kitengela corridor took place on Saturday, September 29, 2012 to sensitize residents on the importance of living in harmony with wildlife.

Students and staff of Inoorero University joined other universities, schools, corporate organizations and conservation enthusiasts in the 10 kilometer walk.

This inaugural event dubbed,”Twende Tusalimie Simba”, was organized by the Kenya Wildlife Conservation Forum (KWCF). The aim of the event was to significantly change the perception and reactions of area residents and other Kenyans towards wildlife.

The Athi-Kapiti grasslands are a potential conflict zone between humans and wildlife and if no mitigation measures are put in place the conflicts will persist due to increased settlement and development in the area.
