Freshers Welcomed at IU

A total of 331 students were admitted to Inoorero University to pursue various courses in Certificate, Diploma and Degree programmes for the 2012 academic year. The University management and faculty welcomed the new students commonly referred to as “freshers” to the institution and advised them to have an objective in order to be useful members of the society.

The Dean ICT Prof. Tom Wamalwa said the students need to have an objective in order to be useful members of the society and went on to challenge them to come up with ideas to solve problems, think, challenge and create.

The students were asked to take advantage of the micro-certified profession that will enable them work anywhere in the world.

Speaking to student during the orientation, the Vice Chancellor told the students that they have the academic freedom to think, create and advice. In addition, he told them to change their thinking while at IU and be creative and have an inquisitive mind.

“Think out of the box and new ways of doing things,” he said

IU has provided various opportunities for students to work for Google and this will only become useful if they know how to use the available opportunities.

During his address the VC emphasized to the new students that their main purpose is to realize their potential, while using their time wisely at the University.
