We are privileged to have two young entrepreneurs join us in this Vice Chancellor's 2nd Innovation Forum with IU students. The event will take place on 16th March 2010 in the IU Lecture Theatre at 2.30 P.M.

The VC announced and launched the Vice Chancellor's Annual IU Innovation Award on 16 th February during the Vc's forum with students. This is a competititon involving all students of the University.The award will be for the top three innovators in each of the three Schools(i.e, ICT, Business and Law).

At the Launch a company owned by a local young entrepreneur - Chris Kinuthia the MD of Globefinity Systems LTD. contributed Kshs. 30,000/- to the innovation fund. The University has received pledges from other companies like Futuristic LTD. , Family Bank and others.

ICT skills have become a necessity in today’s dynamic economy. KPLC as a major contributor to the economy cannot be left behind. For this reason, KPLC undertook to train 18 of their staff members in the finance division to sharpen their skills in Computer Applications. Inoorero University was the company’s best choice trainer through the Executive Training Division.

Inoorero University(IU) is partnering with Google to offer its students and faculty members Google Apps for Education(GAfE). GAfE includes Google's email service Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Docs, Google Talk and instant messaging, and Google Sites. GAfE brings with it many benefits to IU students and faculty members: Students and faculty members will enjoy a mailbox storage of up to 7GB way above what we currently offer to them. They will be able to build their own interactive calendars, share documents, collaborate and even build websites using Google Sites service.

It is also the ability to convert innovations into business entities.

Inoorero University celebrated its 1st graduation in a colourful ceremony on Saturday, 21st November 2009 which saw over 800 graduands awarded various Degrees and Diplomas to join the university’s distinguished alumni.

The launch of Inoorero University marked another milestone in provision of higher education by private universities in Kenya. Inoorero University was started 25 years ago as Kenya School of Professional Studies, mainly offering tuition for courses in banking, accountancy, secretarial and insurance at certificate and diploma levels.

The Kenya School of Professional Studies has been licensed to become a university. During a colorful ceremony at the Commission for Higher Education grounds in Gigiri, SPS was granted a Letter of Interim Authority to commence operations becoming the ninth such university.
